Guess what Genya Krasnopolsky was doing on his birthday? Performing his short programme in Sofia, of course. The result was a 10- point improvement from the last competition.
-Clara, was it the first time Genya competed in two events in a row?
-Yes, that's right. It was for the first time.
-Did it help or harm?
-It definitely helped. If something wasn't done perfectly in the first competition, it could be improved immediately after that during the next one.
-And Genya , how did you feel about it?
-I felt less nervous during the second event.
-Has he improved since the last competition – the Israel Nationals at the end of August?
-He has, certainly. The results have been ten points better. The reason is hard work all the way through. He was particularly noted for artistic impression and spins.
- Clara, are you going to make further changes in the programmes?
- I will bring the spins up to levels 2 or 3, especially the combination spins, in order to earn more points, and I will get him to do a triple-triple combination in the short.
- Genya , your coach is not going to make it easy for you. Will you have the right to voice your opinion?
- My coach always listens to what I have to say about my programmes. We will be making the changes together.
- You have visited two European countries. Did you have some time to see the sights?
- (Clara) – Not I. I was busy with Genya's training and performances.
- (Genya ) – I didn't have the time for it either. But managed to talk with my friends from different countries – Russia, Ukraine, Canada, and Japan. It was nice to see them again in the new season.
- Congratulations on the start of the new season and on Genya's birthday. We are looking forward to seeing the recharged programmes at the next competitions.
- (Clara and Genya together)- Thank you!
