Galit and Sergei won the first medal for Israel in World figure skating championships– bronze in Nagano in 2002. Our most celebrated ice dance duo has taken part in 3 Winter Olympics, and has been on the podium of numerous ISU Grand Prix series - Cup of Russia, Skate Canada, Skate America and Cup of China. Galit carried the national flag of Israel at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. In 2008, Galit and Sergei were named among the 60 Sports Heroes of Israel's modern history.

Galit and Sergei teamed up in 1995. They took part in their first World Championships in 1996 (Everett, Canada), placing 23 and since then climbing up quickly to the top 10 of the world's ice dance elite, where they stayed until their retirement in 2006 due to Sergei's foot injury. The duo was under the tutelage of the world's most renowned ice dance coaches – Nataila Dubova, Natalia Linnichuk and Gennady Karponosov, Tatiana Tarasova, Evgeny Platov, and Alexander Zhulin.
